Darlings! I'm back! And yes, I know you've been distraught, but even a Priestess as High as yours truely needs a break now & then! And why not? I've been on retreat - lovely little place near Glastonbury - Boudicca's Boudoir - you may have heard of it, although it is tres exclusive & terribly expensive. It's run by my old friend, Lady Emerald Moonslack. Plenty of pampering & of course, one had to be gracious & agree to facilitate. I created a rather marvellous Circle for Emerald's Coven of the Celestial Crystal Orb. Sadly, & against my better judgement, I put Doreen in the North; she pulled in a sloth & Emerald's been on the phone all week asking if I know how she can shift it off the chaise longue.

So, she's done it. Little Miss Read This if You Can Be Bothered has got her scribbles in print. I did manage to get hold of a copy - one had expected a signed one, but since I wasn't even on the guest list, it was a case of now she sees it, now she doesn't, frankly! And why not! That was me in the corner in the Vivienne Westwood basque, mink trimmed cloak & Chanel shades (one doesn't like to look conspicuous & in any case, I wouldn't have wanted to rain on her parade - such as it was...) Organic wine darlings; can you imagine? Quelle horreur!

One doesn't like to boast darlings, but yours truely was publishing before she knew the difference between a quill pen & a feather duster! My Belladonna Bracebustle novels went into several reprints. They took the concept of the Bodice Ripper to new heights! And why not? And, you can still find copies of Lady Pandora's Invocations & Magickal Melodrama on eBay apparently.

The Gift of Weaving... hmm... nice enough title, but what does it actually mean? You couldn't blame people if they sued under the Trades Discription Act! There isn't a loom in sight!

(Just shows how well she's read it - there bloody well is a loom! - Ed)

Darlings, darlings! Welcome to my fabulous new column! Lady Pandora Grimoire-Sequin (that's Say-Qwan, darlings, it's French!) here! Such a thrill! When the dear things at LJ called me (She called us - LJ staff) I could hardly believe it! But then again, who else would the dear things call on to help out with the spiritual side of their little journal! And as I said to the nice girl on the switchboard, if you want a bit of class, darling, you've come to the right place! And it is, frankly, the least I could do; one must, one feels, do one's best for the sisters! A soupcon of the old je ne sais quoi! And why not!

For those of you who may not have heard of moi (one does strive for exclusivity!) one's credentials are, though one says so oneself, impecable! Born to the Path, darlings, utterly born to it! Seventh daughter of a seventh daughter & a direct descendent of the Lady Fenella Belladonna Tintagel-Sequin! (The Tintagel-Sequins go back to Morganna, darlings!)

Well, of course you're impressed. And why not! But modesty is of course, my middle name (no it isn't, it's Mavis. We looked her up - LJS) & far be it for me to come over all pretentious. Mind you, I am Old School, & make no apologies for it. In my day, no High Priestess (& personally, I'm talking altitude, darlings, positively Patagonian!) worth her wand would be seen dead on a luncheon date without her crescent crown, never mind in Circle! Nowadays, anything seems to go. No style, darlings, no style. And try buying a length of silky gorgeousness for your Beltaine frock these days & you're quite likely to be offered something au naturelle & so environmentally friendly, it practically asks you to marry it!

Darlings, with nothing Spiritually Urgent on the horizon & with Margery still recovering from Samhain (something always unsuitable gets through if I let her loose with an invocation) I'm advocating a rest until Yule. If however, you do feel Called, do make sure you cast a nice tight Circle. As dear Gerald* used to say, 'If a Circle's worth casting, Pan, it's worth casting well.' Bit like knitting really - & Gerald did do a lovely Fair Isle - good & tight or the whole confounded lot will unravel before the sun goes down!

ps: Feel free to ask me about absolutely anything darlings! With my centuries of experience (I have more degrees than Oxbridge, frankly!) you can be assured of canny advice on everything from spells & incantations to gowns & herb-lore (although I do tend to eschew anything that tastes too vile in favour of a nice drop of gin!)

* Sir Gerald Grimoire - nipped out on the Astral in 1951 & never been heard of since.
